Held at the Marina Bay Sands from 1 to 4 December 2015, the pre-market conference will be followed by three days of conference and market and networking events.

As Yeow Hui Ling, Senior Project Director of Asia TV Forum & Market and ScreenSingapore, Reed Exhibitions, noted, ATF provides participants with knowledge transfer and interactive masterclasses that enable them to get ahead of the curve with insights from the industry's thought leaders.

The focus of the pre-market conference is undoubtedly the digital space and the localisation of international formats to cater to local or regional audiences. The proliferation of digital technologies and its impact and influence on consumer viewing preferences also present challenges and new opportunities for broadcasters and content producers.

D.J. Lee, President of CJ E&M's Media Contents Business, was the first to localise international formats in South Korea and will contribute his knowledge of managing Total Variety Network (tvN), a pay TV platform channel which surpassed free-to-air channels in terms of ratings and advertising revenue.

The need to create opportunities and business partnerships with digital content producers and digital content creation platforms, such as YouTube, YouKu and DailyMotion, are also imperative in the digital age.

CJ E&M uses their Digital Influence and Artist TV (DIA TV) to work with independent digital producers whereas Maker Studios in the USA has a network of 60,000 independent content creators from more than 100 countries and generates more than 12 billion views per month.

"Evolution and adaptation are two key traits to have in an industry such as ours," Lee remarked. He shared that strategies of localisation or integration of formats are to provide engaging and contemporary content for the audience.

Asia TV Forum & Market and ScreenSingapore will be held at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore from 1 to 4 December 2015.
